Pie Chart field represents a pie chart graphic that is drawn on the report page in the rectangle the Pie Chart field occupies in the Print Template. After landing in the template Workspace, the field should be manually resized to the desired size, as shown below:

The chart segments and their labels shown in the plot are for illustration only; the actual content of the pie chart is formed at the run time, in the Report Procedure. The visual attributes of the Pie Chart are set by various Inspector controls, as shown in the following sections.

Pie Chart field name

When the Pie Chart field is added to the Workspace, it is assigned a generic name chart1 to the Local area of the Palette under the heading Dynamic. Additional fields will be named in a like manner on an incremental basis, if necessary (e.g. chart2, chart3). By double-clicking the generic name the cell will convert into an editable field with the generic name text selected and ready for renaming with a more meaningful name (however, this should rarely be needed).

The name assigned to the chart becomes its handle that represents the chart in its entirety when the chart is used in the Report Procedure.
