Transfer Project

Export
All or some of the existing procedures and templates, logically viewed as a project, can be exported into a file that can be later used for re-creating ("importing") the same objects on a different platform. The exported objects are stored in the file in a database-independent format.

This allows moving of the projects between different RDBM systems, located on different computers with different OS (e.g. Scribe's setup built on Sybase running off Windows XP can be copied into another database (e.g. McKoi, Mimer) running on Linux). This feature makes projects portable as may be required by the developer working on different platforms in the office and at home.

The user should select the objects to be exported, type in the name of the export file, or press Browse... button to specify it in the Open File panel.

Import
A project that has been previously exported into a file, can be re-created using this utility. The user should type in the name of the export file, or press Browse... button to select it from the Open File panel.
